A Sustainability-Led Innovation That Really Rocks!
Perhaps you’ll love seeing this #sustainability-orientated innovation as much as I did! Created by geothermal #energy consultancy TownRock Energy, Bodyheat has been installed into #Glasgow arts venue SWG3 as a #renewable energy system delivered from the body heat of dancers on the dancefloor.
TownRock Founder David Townsend explained that if the venue’s occupants are dancing in a medium paced fashion, for example “to the Rolling Stones or something,” 250W of #thermal energy might be generated. “But if you've got a big DJ, absolutely slamming basslines and making everyone jump up and down, you could be generating 500-600W of #thermalenergy."
Hearing this news as I did -- and heading as I am to a Roxy Music 50th Anniversary concert on Friday night at the London O2 Centre (where one is sure to “dance the night away”) -- I was left imaging a #future which levered solutions like TownRock Energy’s.
Celebrating #creativity. Celebrating #collaboration. Celebrating #innovation. And, of course, celebrating #dancing.
