Apple Challenges its Business Partners to "Think Different"
“What it lies in our power to do, it lies in our power not to do” penned Aristotle. Some 2,500 years old, it's nonetheless as relevant now as it was then, and a remark clearly reflective of the business leadership of 100+ manufacturers supplying Apple and, indeed, Apple itself.
Just announced by Apple this week is news that a total of 110 of Apple’s #manufacturing partners have committed to use only #renewableenergy for production of Apple’s products.
These organisation’s leaders may have been urged by Apple, but they still had to make the choice, and the 110 company leaders have opted to proactively respond to Apple’s encouragement and dovetail it with their own business #innovation and #sustainability plans.
As for Apple itself, in July 2020 the company unveiled plans to be carbon neutral across its entire business by 2030. Chief Executive Officer Tim Cook said “Businesses have a profound opportunity to help build a more sustainable #future, one born of our common concern for the planet we share.”
Cook is -- and his predecessor, founder Steve Jobs was -- a leader who dares to do as Apple’s motto of the early 2000s suggested: “Think different”.
