"If You Want to Go Fast, Go Alone. If You Want to Go Far, Go Together."
McKinsey & Company just published a compelling thought piece, 'Collective Action, Collective Success,' and it really landed with me.
It reinforced something important: #transformation is fundamentally about #leadership's ability to create collective belief, collective commitment and collective action.
Many #organisations know what they want to achieve. They:
• Have a clear vision.
• Have an effective business case.
• Have well-defined goals.
Yet transformation still stalls.
People need more than a North Star. They need to understand why it matters, where they fit, and how they can contribute.
They need space for honest #conversations about what is working, what isn't, and what needs to change.
They need to see that transformation is not something being done to them, but something they are helping to build.
What particularly struck me was the article's emphasis on overcoming the organisational #barriers that limit a company's full potential.
Done well, transformation is a #collective endeavour. One that engages both hearts and minds. One where people feel able to say what needs to be said in service of a shared ambition.
That's when people can begin to see The Possibility of what they can achieve.
