Global Brewer Heineken Collaborates with Suppliers to Support Collective Net Zero Ambitions
Global brewer The HEINEKEN Company has just announced positive news that suppliers representing 80% of the company’s #packaging #carbon footprint are now working to or in-process of committing to Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) goals.
As they put it, the ‘milestone’ is significant in making easier Heineken's own efforts to achieve #netzero and other #climate-focused #supplychain ambitions.
The progress made has not been easy. Nor will it, over the coming months and years, be a ‘walk in the park.’ However, as the well-recognised T.A. Webb quote goes “a burden shared is a burden halved” and the collaborative efforts underway by Heineken and its #suppliers, in partnership, makes for a lighter load.
#Systems change requires a different #business #leadership, which supports individual accountability along with collective responsibility and ambition. It necessitates celebration of uniqueness, personal impact and ‘agency’ in parallel with importance of #inclusion and #belonging and being a part of something greater. Openness to partnership is essential. #Collaboration is pivotal.
