Corporate Knights Sustainability-Led Business Ørsted Greenlights Its First Renewable Hydrogen Project

Denmark-based Ørsted has just greenlighted its first renewable #hydrogen project, strongly reaffirming the company’s aim to “develop and deploy market leading #greenenergy solutions.”

Headquartered in Denmark, Ørsted was founded in the mid-1970s to manage oil and gas resources in the North Sea. However, in 2016, the company’s Board took the decision to transition into a green energy company. Rather than becoming marginalised and “done to”, these leaders boldly set in motion a plan make Ørsted a #responsiblebusiness, with a #sustainable model: good for the planet, customers and the company itself.

Ørsted ranked no.1 in the Corporate Knights 2020 index of the Global 100 most sustainable corporations. It’s in the CDP Climate Change A List as a global leader on climate action. And, over the last two years, the company’s share price has more than doubled.
