Leaders Pledges toward Net Zero: Research Cites more than 20% of World's Largest Corporates are Committing
“Never give up on something that you can’t go a day without thinking about,” once said silver-penning PM Winston Churchill. And casting a lens to a report just out from Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit (ECIU) and Oxford Net Zero, one sees clear evidence that an increasing number of CEOs and #leadership teams aren’t letting a day pass without thinking about their business’s #environmental impact.
Research from these joint bodies notes 21% of the world’s largest 2,000 public companies–accounting for $14trn sales globally--have now set #netzero commitments.

The report notes only c. 1/3 of entities of those surveyed have interim targets and reporting mechanisms; less than half have a published plan.
Still, as silver-penning author Haruki Murakami once said, “Everybody has to start somewhere. Perfection doesn't happen right away.”
Here's to more leaders in the #future taking that first bold step.
