Sustainability Leadership: VF Corporation in Action
Global apparel and footwear company VF Corporation, owner of The North Face, Timberland and Vans, once again shows commitment to #innovation, will to collaborate and hearty determination to drive and deliver systemic change, three cornerstones of #sustainability #leadership.
Just announced are plans for Timberland to expand its #regenerative leather collection; doing so by partnering with international regenerative design consultancy Terra Genesis to create the world’s first regenerative rubber supply system for the footwear sector.
Timberland has set an ambitious target to ensure 100% of its natural materials are sourced by #regenerativeagriculture by 2030 and this rubber supply system will actively support the goals.
However, Timberland has confirmed it will allow other brands outside of VF to partake, supporting #sustainable transition across fashion, footwear, and beyond.
“We are Made for Change” is written boldly on VF’s web pages. So, too, is VF's aim to “preserve the world, the people and #environments it contains…so that #future generations can do the same.”
This week’s news reinforces VF’s commitment to these long term goals coupled with very real short term action, itself another cornerstone of #sustainabilityleadership.
