The UK's First Asian and Hindu Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, Takes Office

Today, 24 October, is Diwali and what an inspiring, celebratory moment it marks this year with the appointment of the #UK's first Asian and Hindu Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak.
 
No matter what side of the fence one is on, Tory or Labour, it is an occasion to be reflected upon, a moment representative of a multi-cultural country. 

Yes, it is true, Sunak went to University of Oxford. Yes, it is true that he is married to a very wealthy woman. This doesn’t change the fact that he is the first non-white Prime Minister that we have seen in #government here, and that speaks to progress in the nation’s #diversity, #equity and #inclusion journey.
