Travis Perkins plc's Pledge to Disability Inclusion

The large bias to Environmental, Social and Governance (#esg) news is in the #environmental category, this being -- for many companies -- not only where they feel they may have most impact but also where it’s easier to story-tell, grab the headlines with commitments, and show impact.

It’s thus a pleasure to highlight news out this week  from British builders' merchant and home improvement retailer Travis Perkins plc.  The company has announced a new pledge for disability #inclusion after joining The Valuable 500 last year.

The commitments include:-

- partnering with the Business Disability Forum to support Travis Perkins’ employees becoming more “#disability confident” so they have the skills and knowledge to be more inclusive of people with disabilities
- establishing a “staff ability network” to give those with #disabilities a stronger voice in shaping an inclusive working environment
- engendering a #culture which supports this way of being and working.

These actions reflect the company’s aims to help build a fully #inclusive workplace for the Travis Perkins’ 20,000 employees.

The Valuable 500 is a business to business initiative catalysing the influence of large private sector corporations (1000+ employees) in national and international markets.

Here's to those firms who are committed to The Valuable 500, creating that forward momentum, and challenging the status quo.
