UK Ranked Fourth in EY's 2023 Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index

Fascinating to see the news that the UK comes in fourth place on EY’s #Renewable #Energy Country Attractiveness Index (RECAI).

The #US, propelled by the $396bn Inflation Reduction Act, retains top seed.

Second is #Germany, followed closely by #China; the latter having been overtaken by Germany.

And, lo and behold, fourth on the list is the UK! Something to celebrate for the UK!

This said, as pointed out by RECAI’s Chief Editor Ben Warren, “While the UK remains an attractive destination for #renewables #investment, it faces increasing fierce international competition as the US and #EU step up their own policies to entice #cleanenergy capital…[and]…the planning system could be streamlined to accelerate the #construction of major energy assets.”

#Systemschange requires bold #leadership, across party lines. #Collaboration is paramount. Time is fleeting.
